Prof. Dr. NAZIM ŞEKEROĞLU

Kilis 7 Aralık University Agricultural Faculty Dean

Born 02 October 1972 in Kilis, Turkey, he holds an MSc (1997) and PhD (2003) in Agricultural Engineering on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. He is the author or co-author of about one hundred peer-reviewed scientific articles, book chapters and conference presentations as an invited speaker. Until now, he visited about fifty (50) different countries all over the world for scientific purposes.


Until now, Dr. Sekeroglu organized a number of national and international scientific congresses, and was a member of scientific boards of them. His scientific meeting organization series titled “Mediterranean Symposium on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MESMAP) host more than five hundred participations from sixty different countries every two years.

He is a scientific board member of some respected Journals on Plant, Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences published under Elsevier, Wiley, Springer and other European and US publishing groups.

 

Dr. Sekeroglu has some European (with Lithuania, Portugal and Spain), Japan and National research projects.
He founded “Association of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants of Mediterranean (AMAPMED)” is also the President of the Association. He is also General Coordinator of GOFMAP (Global Federation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants).

Prof. Dr. AYHAN ALTINTAŞ.


In 1992, he graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Pharmacy. He received his master degree in 1995 and PhD in 2003 in Pharmacognosy Department of the Institute of Health Sciences, Anadolu University. In the same department, he became an assistant professor in 2008 and an associate professor in 2012. 1994 -1995, he worked on alkaloid studies at the Institute of Herbal Chemistry of Tashkent Academy of Sciences in Uzbekistan. He worked as a researcher Lecturer in The University of Mississippi, National Center for Natural Products Research

Since 2016, he has been teaching in the Phytotherapy Certification Programs under the Regulation on Traditional and Complementary Medicine Practices carried out at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Istanbul University of Health Sciences and Konya Necmettin Erbakan University.

 

He is the coordinator of the Phytotherapy Certification Program at Adnan Menderes University, Traditional and Complementary Medical Practices and Research Center, opened under the same regulation  in 2018.

He has 18 articles in international indexes, 6 national book chapters, 1 international congress book, paper presented in more than 40 international and national meetings, 4 completed and 2 ongoing projects, 21 completed term project consultancy, 1 there are 4 ongoing master thesis consultations, 1 ongoing doctoral dissertation consultancy.

 

He is also the coordinator of Phytotherapy Non-Thesis Master Program, which was started in 2013 at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Institute of Health Sciences, Anadolu University.

He is still working as a lecturer in Anadolu University Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacognosy and Anadolu University Yunus Emre Vocational School of Health Services.

 

He is a member of Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy Society, Phytochemical Society of Asia, Association for Research in Pharmacy History and International Association of Homeopathy. 

 


 
 

MSc. Phytotherapy M. HALİS ERTAŞ

Born in Antalya in 1980, M. Halis ERTAŞ got his bachelor degree at Akdeniz University and studied his master degree on Phytotherapy at Anadolu University. He is influenced by the medicinal plant richness of the Mediterranean Region ,the traditional production and use of the local people. At the age of 23, he entered the market in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants and firstly he started to produce essential and fixed oil. During this period, Mr Namık Mumcuoğlu, who was a doyen of the sector, have great support to him.

 

M. Halis Ertaş has been a part of foundations and activities of many associations in order to support the development of both producers and the sector in his country. He has been attended to academic studies for medicinal and aromatic oils in Turkey because his aim was to be included in scientific studies into traditional consumption. In order to sell non-medicinal products in pharmacies in Turkey, he attended dozens of trade fairs, congresses, association activities, sponsorships etc.As a result he managed Talya Herbal brand started being sold in pharmacies. In the following years, he lead the way that new brands appears and taking place in the pharmacy sector.

 

Taking part in many local and international events, he has enabled the Talya brand to get a place international market. He established Talya Herbal LLC in USA and started international sales operations. He still operates Talya Herbal Turkey and USA company groups  Chairman of the Board
