What is St. John's Wort?

St. John's wort, whose Latin name is Hypericum perforatum, is a member of  Hypericaceae family. (*) St. John's Wort is also known with different names among the local people.

St. John's wort is a herbaceous plant which grows  by itself worldwide. Due to colors at the ends of its branches, it is named as St. John's Wort or common centaury. St. John's wort   grows naturally in fields, forests and roadsides and harvested in the summer time.

How to use St. John's Wort Oil?

How to Produce St. John's Wort Oil?

St. John's wort, which is harvested during the flowering period, is filled to a closed container. Natural olive oil with low acid level is added on the St. John's wort in the container. Containers which are closed with the help of a lid should not get any air. Subsequently, containers with the oil mixture are exposed to direct sunlight.  St. John's wort and olive oil mixture starts to change color from 2 weeks to 45 days. Color change means the process is complete.
